This is a nice piece of Wavecrest glassware made by C.F. Monroe. It has a raised panel design with transferware flowers and hand painted enamel hightlights on the glass. Inside is bright and clean. The design features a fall design with pink and yellow dahlias, brown orange and green leaves and dots of white enamel sprinkled here and there.
The silver tone hardware is intact and works like it should. The bail squeaks when you raise it. Some of the plating has worn away over the years on the lid but it has a beautiful patina. The lid does have small little dents to the rim edge where it sits on the top. It is as if somone tried to make it fit a little looser so they pressed it in slightly. The dents are not noticeable but I want you to know they are there.
It stands about 11 1/4" tall with the handle raised or about 8 1/2" with just the lid (the handle down to the side). Although it is not marked, it is definitely Wavecrest in a recognizable Dahlia design. Please view the photos for a better description. I have other neat things listed. Please view my other items.
